After being involved with horses for so many years, very few take our breath away anymore, and even fewer run away with our hearts.
Cedar did that the first time we laid eyes on him.
His great beauty, excellent temperament and correct conformation are the perfect complement to his regal breeding. You will find nothing but great horses in his pedigree.
Cedar’s sire, Bey Shah, needs no introduction.
Cedar’s Dam sire, Fortel, was part of Forta’s great legacy to the breed.
Fortel was born in 1955. He was a stakes winner and sired four national winners, in different disciplines, including a Canadian National Stock Horse Champion.
He was also the sire of TW Forteyna, who produced the black beauty Shahteyna, 1987 U.S. National Champion and dam of International champions, & Bey Teyna, 1992 Canadian National Champion and U.S. National Champion, both mares were sired by Bey Shah.
A champion in his own right, TC Bey Cedar is, by blood, 3/4 sibling to both of them.
He is also 1/2 brother to NV Beau Bey, Leading Juvenile Sire of Halter and Performance winners combined and to Bey Fireeshah, National Champion Futurity Filly.
TC Bey Cedar's full sister, Bey Elaynah, was exported as a two year old.
Walt Disney Studios felt he was not only strikingly beautiful but tractable enough to give him the role of “Al Hattal” in the movie Hidalgo.
There are now gorgeous horses in the show ring, but horses capable of grabbing people's attention on their own, without the assistance or direction of their handler are fewer and further apart. If you look at the favorites, you will find that most of those horses have a name in common in their pedigree, Bey Shah.
Bey Shah’s most prominent and treasured trait, besides his looks, was that
"Extra Something". Some people call it charisma, some attitude, some presence, is that intangible attractive attribute that can't be trained into a horse.
With Bey Shah gone, stallions like Cedar, who not only inherited this trait but have proven to be able to pass it on consistently, are the last link to this rare quality.
Cedar combines the great beauty and charisma of Bey Shah with the natural strength and athletic ability of the polish bred Arabians, the result is a horse that doesn't need "special effects" or "the tricks of the trade” to be spectacular.
The final proof is in what he sires.
His eagerness to please, his easy going personality, his extreme beauty and proud demeanor, are things that are mentioned over and over by those who meet him.
We are extremely proud of him…. Although we do not breed for black, the color does not hurt…
He conjures the magic of the Arabian Nights & the Black Stallion of our childhood... the stuff dreams are made of....
